The Nobel Prizes
The Nobel Prizes are widely regarded as the most prestigious awards given for intellectual achievement in the world. They are recognized by virtually every scientist, and they are also among the few prizes known by name to many ordinary citizens. The only international prizes that approach them in importance are those awarded in the Olympic Games.
