Bottle Rocket

Wes Anderson's first cinematic opus.

Owen and Was, who met in a college screenwriting class, penned the screenplay for a thirteen-minute short that gained enough attention at the Sundance Film Festival to land the boys a contract to make it into a feature.  Luke, Owen, and Andrew Wilson would remain recurrent actors in Anderson's later films, as would Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh continue composing for Anderson.

A collaborative work, Bottle Rocket was the first movie of Wes Anderson and both Luke and Owen Wilson, who would become prominent actors in Hollywood.  The film features both the distinctive, subtle humor and careful cinematographic composition that would establish Anderson as a an eminent contemporary director and screenwriter.
