Ideas for Jeteye
Jetpak is Public

Summary: Just jotting down ideas for the growing, changing jeteye.

When sharing a jetpak, give users opportunity to add a small message

  Better accountability for jetpak vandalism

When a user edits someone elses jetpak, perhaps it should display next to the note, link, image, whatever, who edited the jetpak when, with an option for the user to be flagged for spam/vandalism.

Page hit counts for each jetpak

A maxim: Whenever anyone puts any amount of real work into anything, they'd like to know people noticed.

In this case, people might enjoy seeing how many people visit their jetpaks, since visitors don't always vote.  I doubt it would be any more work than the voting mechanism, just another number stored in the xml file or whatever.

Ability for users to post comments at tail of jetpak, a la blogs

One of the funner, more interactive aspects of websites like myspace is the ability to leave comments on your friends' profiles.  Likewise, personal blogs are fun partially because your friends or random people can comment on whatever you have to say, you can respond, etc.

I think this feature would help engender the 'community' feel Jeteye is looking for, by making it more interpersonally interactive.  This phenomena is witnessed, for instance, in today's [Jan 11th] JPOD [apricot tree growing] when one user added a note in response to the jetpak.
